Christian Aid offers help to the world's poorest

What charity raised £14,000,000 last year through the efforts of a dwindling band of volunteers? Christian Aid.

Organised in the wake of World War II by Christians move by the plight of refugees from that conflict, Christian Aid has carried on helping those in need ever since. Although it provides emergency aid when required, its main purpose is summed up by the slogan, Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.

For the last forty years Christians in Rhyl have been collecting for Christian Aid and in this film we catch glimpses of the celebratory service while the organiser for north Wales and Wendy Jones, the local organiser, talk about Christian Aid and what it has done.

In the second film Anna Jones, the north Wales organiser, talks about a special exhibition. She was nervous about standing in front of the camera - as you can see from the way she keeps glancing away - and that is why she gave the wrong URL. The subtitle gives the correct one.
