Fisher's Ghost and Quandong Centre

Fisher's ghost terrifies a passing bushman

Today the scene of the murder is a depressing little dump with a railway bridge on one side and a car park on the other. Two centuries ago it was a most desirable piece of land: fertile, and with its own supply of water - soon to be known as Fisher's Ghost Creek.

And before you ask, a quandong is a type of tree - so now you know as much as I do.

I was very grateful to Matthew for volunteering to talk about his home town. If you ever visit Australia, make sure you pop out to Campbelltown and visit the Centre, which is in a lovely old building on the banks of Fisher's Ghost Creek.

You can find out more about the place by visiting the local council website.
