The Priest of Puffin Island

Right out at the eastern tip of Anglesey is a ruined priory and a curious church - curious because the chancel is considerably larger than the nave. They are the remains of Penmon Priory, which dates back to a troubled young man in the closing years of the Roman Empire.

This film, however, is only half of the story I want to tell, but the weather closed in before I could finish - you'll notice the lowering skies and the rising wind in the final scene! Keep watching this space for the next film, which will take you to the other end of Anglesey.

The "More info" option takes you to a most useful reference book to the Welsh saints and their traces - holy wells, ruined chapels, obscure place names, the lot.
