Rhuthun - or, if you prefer the English spelling, Ruthin - is a charming market town set on a slight hill at the end of the Vale of Clwyd. In this film we explore the sights and history of the town, starting with the craft centre at the foot of the hill, a delightful place to spend a morning browsing. The castle is now a luxury hotel whose Medieval Banquets are famous. The church, which is open daily in the summer, has the best wooden ceiling in Denbigh and possibly in Wales. When you go to visit, make sure you take a pair of binoculars!

Finally we look at the things around the square at the top of the hill and reveal why King Arthur didn't make it into the history books.

(If you enjoyed this film, you may wish to watch our film on Tintagel.)

The final film is a visit to Rhuthun Gaol, the recently opened tourist attraction. They knew how to treat criminals back in those days - the crank alone is worth the price of admission!
