Nuremberg

Nuremberg - or Nurnberg as the Germans spell it - looks like a ghastly modern industrial city, an impression that lasts all the way into the centre of town and then the medieval splendours of the place burst on your eyes. A massive town wall with huge towers and battlements, fascinating buildings with tiled roofs, an intriguing piece of modern sculpture called the "Narrenschiff" or "Ship of Fools", and the Rathaus or Town hall.

It is this latter which is the subject of this film, for it is not often that the nightmarish beasts of Bible prophecy feature as an architectural expression of political opinion. I was fascinated when I first read about this decoration and delighted to see the statues for myself. See what you think.

In the "Museums" film Dawn Jones tells us about the museums in Nuremberg and you can probably guess what the "Churches" film is about.

The "More info" link is for those whose interest in the prophecies of Daniel has been picqued by this film.
