Turkey has it all - wonderful beaches, fascinating ruins, friendly people. In our first film on the reconstructed site we meet some of those friendly people in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul.
Then we go out into the country to find the Granicus River, scene of Alexander's first victory against the Persians and set off on a tour of seven significant cities in western Turkey. We also visit the remains of Aphrodisias, a luxurious city of the past.
I have some more material for the capital city, so have decided to create its own subsection, but I won't move the Grand Bazaar film so as not to upset your bookmarks.
